Seminar update

I am so excited about the upcoming seminar!  The organizing seems to be falling into place.

We have almost 50 people coming to the seminar, 5 demonstrators, 3 vendors plus  what the demonstrators are selling.  There are about 33 people planning and paid to attend the Dinner with the Demonstrators at a private dining room at the Casa Carbone restaurant.

At the Casa Carbone, each diner will have a choice of one of the 5 preselected entrees.  She or he will also have a house salad, a soft drink, and a dessert.  The tax and tip are included in the $20 that each person has prepaid.  If someone wants wine with the meal, that is okay, but she or he must pay for that personally, it does not come out of the $20.

We will be among the first in the USA to view the new Mark II two color garter carriage.  Cathie is holding a special class just for this!  I am sure we will have lots of questions for her.  Northtipton, her company, will start installing the Mark II sometime later this summer.

Many people are selling used machine knitting equipment through our private for sale list.  These are bargains to be picked up at the seminar, so no shipping charges are added!  When you register for the seminar, you are invited to join the for sale list.  Then you can sell or buy or browse as you wish.

Classes: we are still in the planning stages, but here is what we know so far:

These are the POTENTIAL  classes which might be offered at our seminar.  Some might change, but in general these are the classes as of January 30 at 7 a.m.

Our classes are 1 hour long with 30 minutes between classes for shopping, visiting, or whatever.  There will be 4 classes per day.

Dr. Frank will teach only one class each day and will do machine repairs at other times during the day for those who have booked a "doctor's appointment" with him before the seminar! Contact Dr. Frank at www.northtipton.com 

Dr. Frank will do a class on care and maintenance of the garter carriage and one on maintenance and cleaning of the machine

How to sign up for the seminar in Raleigh April 29 and 30

Here is how to sign up for the seminar and to pay for it.

Send checks, made out to Carolinas Machine Knitters Guild, 

to Treasurer, CMKG, PO Box 14254, New Bern, NC, 28562

With your check include "2011 Seminar" and the name, address, phone

number, and email address you want to use for registration

OR

 We also accept PayPal transfers for the April Seminar. First, of course,

you have to be signed up with PayPal. From there, here's how to do it (and save

the cost of a stamp & envelope plus all the stress of writing a check ;-0):

 1. Go to the sign-on page for PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/) and sign in.

 2. At the top of the page, locate the "Send Money" tab and click it.

 3. In the "To" box enter "treasurer@carolinasmkg.org

 4. In the "Amount" box, enter the appropriate amount: $80 for members or
